Klappentext

The fourth edition of the definitive text that helped found this field, Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience, is thoroughly revised and updated to reflect the latest research findings focusing on the development of brain and behaviour during infancy, childhood, and adolescence. Offering readers a comprehensive introduction to all facets of the complex nature of brain-behaviour relationships and development, chapters provide coverage of the theoretical foundations and evolution of the field, along with major content areas that include object and face perception, speech and language, memory, executive function, and social processing. Updates to this edition include new or greatly expanded coverage of such topics as epigenetics and gene expression, cell migration and stem cells, sleep and learning/memory, socioeconomic status and development of prefrontal cortex function, and genetic and environmental risk factors in human brain development. The authors have also added a new chapter on educational neuroscience, which features the latest findings on the application of cognitive neuroscience methods in school-age educational contexts.

Enhancing its position at the vanguard of this rapidly expanding field, Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience, 4th Edition, is an invaluable resource for gaining insights into myriad issues at the intersection of brain and cognitive development.
