The demon Bifrons has told Master Roger of a plot to take the King of Britain's head. Roger is worried about the safety of his king: Richard II. Should Roger believe Bifrons, or is the wily demon trying to trick him? It is up to Roger's assistant, Jake Savage, to see through the mystery of the demon's divination.
The King of Britain's Head is the first in a new series of short stories called The Sotil and Savage Mysteries from the author of Chivalry and Hell has its Demons. Each story follows Roger Sotil and Jake Savage as they attempt to solve a paranormal mystery. They can be read out of sequence.

Mark Lord studied Medieval Studies at the University of Birmingham and wrote his M. Phil. Thesis on Medieval Alliterative Poetry. Since then he has worked in publishing and writes historical fiction, fantasy and science fiction in his spare time.
Mark is the author of the novels Hell has its Demons, The Return of the Free and numerous short stories. He is also editor of the popular Alt Hist magazine - one of the few literary magazines to focus exclusively on historical fiction and alternate history.
He lives in Hertfordshire with his family.
