Martin Gertler earned his first doctorate in 1999 with an interdisciplinary thesis on TV reception, followed by a second doctorate in 2025 on opinion formation in the climate crisis. In 2002, he was appointed Professor of Media Science. In 2008, he became Professor of Communication Science and Founding Rector of a university for continuing education. Since 2011, he has focused on supervising professionals pursuing their doctorates at international universities.
