Mehmet Ali Yazan 1970 yilinda Istanbul'da dogdu. 1992 yilinda Istanbul Üniversitesi tarih Bölümü'nden mezun oldu. 1997 yilinda Sakarya Üniversitesi'nde yüksek lisans yapti. Tez konusu Çanakkale Savaslarinin Türk basinina yansimasiydi. Çesitli okullarda 7 yil tarih ögretmenligi yapti. Ilk ilk kitabi Mars'ta Bir Müslüman Karina yayinevinden çikti. Evli ve bir çocuk babasidir.
