At a family reunion, Katherine receives a book detailing her family's heritage. As she reads through it, she uncovers stories of resilient women spanning generations, from the pre-Civil War era to Vietnam. Each woman played a vital role in shaping her family's legacy of spies, fighting for social injustice, single parenting, diseases, learning difficulties, wars and even murder. Despite their diverse backgrounds, these women shared a common purpose: an unwavering commitment to provide for and protect the ones they loved, no matter the cost.

Autorentext

The pandemic brought an unexpected gift which was the chance to pursue things I'd always wanted to but never had time for. One of those was diving into the family genealogy books I'd set aside years ago. Immersing myself in stories of my ancestors, I felt deeply connected to my heritage, each story revealing new layers of fascination and insight. My great-grandmother's story especially captivated me, yet every attempt to learn more about her seemed to reach a dead end. Then it dawned on me?why not draw from my background as a freelance storyteller and write her story myself?

This story joins my previous works: Moments with Melinda for adults and my children's books, Belinda's Hugs and Read This One. I also self-produced two children's music CDs, Mosquitoes from a Can and Singin' and a Tellin' from the Old Porch Swing, both available on SoundCloud.
