The story progresses through Stocky's training and then his posting over seas to the Desert War where he flew the P-40 Kittyhawk. Born in Victoriaville, Quebec, in 1944, J.P.A. Michel Lavigne is an enthusiastic aviation historian, particularly in the field of Canadian fighter pilots, 1939-1945. He has written five books on the subject, three of them co-authored with Wing Commander James F. Edwards.
