My father and I traveled to Florida to visit my sister, thinking it would be a nice trip to a pleasant city. However, my father's health suddenly deteriorated, and amidst this turmoil, I began to fear the increasingly erratic and violent behavior of my neighbor and supposed friend, Edward Allen Covington. Little did I know, he was the very man responsible for what has become known as the Mother's Day Massacre. It wasn't until a year ago that I discovered the horrifying truth about Covington's actions. While reports stated his ex-wife as the only survivor, I soon realized that I was his first survivor. Even now, I am haunted by the memories and still live in fear of that man.
