Blood on the Raven is book two in the Lighter Shade of Darkness Trilogy. An adult dark fantasy with a touch of sci-fi, the story picks up a month after book one, Dust on the Altar. Jade must now deal with the fallout of the ritual which brought Raven back from the dead.
All Jade wanted was to avenge her best friend by killing the dark Witch possessing her body. But the best Lawkeeper in Sun City has come to investigate April's disappearance. If he reports back that a Dark Witch is capable of possessing one of their own, fear could overwhelm the fragile peace between the classes, igniting a new war between science and magic.
Jade is now forced to protect Raven by running interference between her and the Inspector. This won't be easy as the Inspector's drones are everywhere.
Can she find a way to help close the case, protect the peace, and still bring Raven to justice?

Michelle Winkler was convinced by her husband to live in the Arizona desert. While skeptical at first, she realized if she could survive hitch-hiking halfway across country at 20 years old, spend eight years in the Navy, and raise two sons, as long as she had air-conditioning, she'd probably be okay.
Since her move she's: started a veggie garden, learned how to shoot a bow, completed three associate degrees, and become a kayak enthusiast. However, she still hates to cook, and will absolutely run screaming from the room at the first sight of a bug. Because bugs are evil.
