My third book on Goth (published in 1996), HEX FILES was intended as the most in-depth look I could achieve of the Goth scene internationally, no easy feat in the pre-internet days. I also delved, in direct response to requests from readers of my previous books, into the relevant overlapping areas of the Pagan, Fetish and Vampire scenes.

Mick Mercer started writing in 1976 with his Punk fanzine Panache, and went on from there to a long career in music journalism, during which he edited various magazines and has had five books published, prior to making his own works available online.
