Agu is the author's reimagined tale of Umuezechime heritage and aims to pique interest in history. There are different schools of thought on the origin of Eze Chime himself. From being the Benin prince, Ehikime to being a chief who hailed from Nri Kingdom in Anambra and settled in Benin Kingdom because of division in his homeland and later fell in love and married the Oba of Benin's daughter to a gamete of other stories. Rather than reprise arguments of Eze Chime's nativity, Agu celebrates him as the genesis of the Umuezechime clan, which comprises of Onicha in Nigeria's Anambra State, some of the Ijaw riverine areas and other Igbo speaking areas commonly known as "Enuani" or "Aniocha" of what is now Delta state in Nigeria.
