The Wacahoota Wampus, the fourth book in the Charlie Palmer Series, finds Charlie in charge of two new federal wildlife officers while orienting himself to the hurricane-ravaged landscape of north-central Florida's Lower Suwannee National Wildlife Refuge.

And then the demons arrive.

Billy Red Otter, the neighbor of Charlie and his wife, Miranda, confides that an ancient monster he's been warned about since childhood is stalking him. While Charlie helps Billy, Miranda is facing a human menace: the violent husband of a patient. Quickly, both Charlie and Miranda learn just how real monsters are.

Perfect for readers of Randy Wayne White and C. J. Box, Nick West's page-turner is exciting and easy to follow, peppered with sweet romance and a compelling murder mystery against the backdrop of the heart-stopping emotion of the 1960s.
