"Pharmacokinetics" is a part of the Neuropsychopharmacology course series textbooks. It is a tutorial written in questions and answers format. It is a study guide with in-depth explanations. Each section is a modular unit that is self-contained for easy reading. The principles and concepts are introduced systematically so students can learn and retain the materials intuitively.

Autorentext

Dr. Nicoladie Tam, Ph.D., is an author and a university professor with a doctoral Ph.D. degree in Physiology, and three bachelor's degrees in Computer Science, Physics, and Astrophysics.

She uses innovative teaching methods to engage and challenge the learners to actively participate in the learning process. The books that she has written are intuitive, easy to read and understand because she applies the theories of learning gained from her neurobiological research into the real world.

The pedagogy uses immediate feedback to provide answers to the questions instantly to accelerate the rate of learning and knowledge acquisition. It is an interactive and self-paced method that allows students to explore knowledge modularly and incrementally without a pre-defined path of exploration.

The effectiveness of the teaching methods was tested from teaching courses in biology, animal physiology, neuroscience, neuropsychopharmacology, neuroengineering, computational neuroscience, and research methodology.

The brain-compatible pedagogy was inspired by the results of her brain research. The research identifies how the brain processes decisions cognitively and emotionally using optical brain imaging to study neurodynamics. She pioneered research in studying how decisions are affected by emotional feedbacks using a neurobiological model of emotions that she created.

Klappentext

"Pharmacokinetics" is a book chapter of the college-level textbook for the book volume in the Principles of Neuropsychopharmacology course. It is a part of the Science Textbook Series authored by Nicoladie Tam, Ph.D. that also includes the Principles of Biology course.

This book is written with specific pedagogical considerations to facilitate students' learning. It applies the proven best practices to motivate students in learning. It uses multiple pedagogical methodologies to engage students in active learning by participating in the knowledge acquisition process. It stimulates the curiosity of students by asking them questions and answering them immediately. It guides the students in their comprehension of knowledge by using examples and by giving them detailed explanations following the answers.
