Almost everyone has heard the name Jesus. Many know Him as the Son of God, yet far fewer can clearly explain who He truly was or why He came to Earth. Ask people about His purpose, where He lived, when His ministry occurred, or why His mission mattered, and the answers often become confused or incomplete. Truly knowing Jesus requires understanding these fundamental questions.
In my teenage and young adult years, I relied on what others told me-Christians, Muslims, Hebrews, Buddhists, and even secular thinkers. Their perspectives often conflicted or lacked accuracy, yet they all agreed Jesus existed and possessed remarkable qualities. From their differing views, I created my own "composite Jesus," a version shaped by convenience rather than truth. He was a holy man who died for my sins, and because I believed in Him and tried to live a mostly good life, I assumed heaven awaited me. My moral failures were private, and I believed they harmed no one. Surely, I thought, God would weigh my good and bad accordingly.
As the years passed, Jesus became more important to me, and I realized how little I truly understood Him. The version I created no longer made sense. This realization pushed me to start over and seek the real Jesus with sincerity.
My search began in the Old Testament, exploring the prophecies that foretold His coming. I then studied the synoptic gospels, comparing their accounts of His life and ministry. Finally, I examined the teachings given to the Apostles, which reveal the deeper meaning of His message and sacrifice.
This book reflects what I discovered on that journey. It is not a theological debate or an attempt to correct others. Rather, it is my personal understanding of Jesus formed through study, reflection, and a desire to know Him more fully. If these insights help even one reader grow closer to Christ or spark a deeper exploration of Scripture, then I have used the gifts God has entrusted to me as faithfully as I can.
