The Organisation is a crime syndicate whose headquartes are based in Hull, UK. The book gives a glimse into the sometimes brutal workings within the Organisation. It follows the trafficking of Anna a young Bulgarian woman into the Organiation. This is set against the blossoming relationship between Linda, a worker on its fringe and Simon a seafarer.

P.L.Sharp is in his seventies, married with a daughter and lives in Yorkshire, UK. At school he worked in a local supermarket. On leaving school joined the Merchant Navy as an indentured navigating apprentice with an oil tanker company. Spending over twenty years in the Merchant Navy eventually sailing as Captain before being made redundant. He returned to college gaining a Diploma in Port and Shipping Management.

With no prospect of suitable employment in the marine industry he started his own business in the domestic service sector. At the same time teaching local Royal Yachting Association navigation courses to yachtsmen. He eventually completely retired during the COVID outbreak.
