A little boy named Clay goes on an adventure in the woods and shoreline of Lake Michigan. He is looking for someone to play ball with him. Many different animals try to play ball with him; however, God has a plan for Clay. In the end of the book, God gives the little boy someone special to play ball with.

The author is a former elementary school teacher. In 2004, she had a double lung transplant, and since enjoyed many years of God's pure grace. The author lives in Michigan with her husband, Stephen, and cat, Freeway. Come Play Ball with Me, Clay is the third and final book in a book series about her grandchildren.
