Horticulture has a commitment that no other sector many perhaps come up as parallel i.e. in terms of its importance to achieve nutritional security and as a most viable components of environment friendly industrial base. With the rapid expansion of globalization under the influence of WTO, the world market for agricultural and horticultural produces has been increasing very rapidly and this, along with the introduction of noble cultivars with accurate identity so that the breeding efforts can be protected.
