Follow the lives and adventures of Gerhardt Kroner and Karl Schuour, two sons of German immigrants who have immigrated to Hartzstein, PA, at the base of the Poconos Mountains. Being the same age and growing up together as best friends, their paths in life take a dramatic change when World War II breaks out, and Gerhardt graduates from the Naval Academy and becomes the captain of a US Navy Destroyer. Karl, on the other hand, goes back to Germany to help his aging grandfather run his manufacturing plant when it is taken over by the Nazi government, and forced to build U-boats for the Kriegsmarine, or German Navy, and Karl is made to become a U-boat Captain. For those who enjoy World War II fiction and history, Kriegsmarine should appeal.
