On 14 October 1913, 29 women met to form a Club. A year later, the town of Stuart was established and they became the Woman's Club of Stuart. They met on Wednesday because on Monday they washed, Tuesday they ironed, and Wednesday was the first day they had nothing to do.

"Notice is hereby given that will on the 23rd day of May A.D. 1914 at Ten o'clock in the forenoon, apply to the Honorable Judge L. W. Bechtel, Judge of the Circuit Court of the eleventh judicial circuit of the State of Florida in Key West, Florida, or wherever the court may be, for the Order approving the Charter for the Woman's Club of Stuart, Palm Beach County, Florida, a corporation not for profit.
