Johnathan Reese Whiting was just a normal, nerdy, mild-mannered teenager when he was unexpectedly bitten by a radioactive comic book one day while at his billionaire best friend's dad's uncle's (twice removed) super top-secret government research facility!
This unorthodox event led him to seek out an ancient mysterious wizard who lived in a majestic palace on the topmost peak of the sacred Kun Lun Mountains of the forgotten legendary lost land of mists and dinosaurs known as: Ogdenutah!
Just as the supercilious sorcerer bestowed upon him the mystical scarlet scarf of the mythical Zagron of Zalamandragonstan, he was bombarded by the cosmic rays of a full eclipse of both the sun and the moon at the same time!
All of these miraculous happenstances led him to gain the super strange superpowers of making colorful marks on paper with the aid of markers, pencils, and desktop vector-based design programs!
Disguising himself as an ordinary children's book author and illustrator, in reality (once he dons his mystical red scarf, super-glasses, and hyper-fedora) he fights for truth, justice, and THE AMERICAN WAY alongside his monster and robot sidekicks as the superhero we all know and love: Mr. Reese!
