Regency romance author Jean and her husband spice up their marriage via role-play scenarios based on characters in her books with Jean playing the innocent heroine. The tables are turned when Jean finds herself alone on a research trip to Bath, England, where she is propositioned by an eighteen-year-old college student in need of her expertise. She's tempted, but what will her husband say?

"An Academic Pursuit" is a contemporary romance short involving an unexpected vacation fling between an older woman and a younger man, and a married couple negotiating polyamory. The story first appeared under a different title in the anthology Sweet Confessions, published by Cleis Press, 2011.
