Rita van Dyk is the author of a number of best-selling cookbooks for the outdoors, including The 4x4 Cookbook, The 4x4 Safari Cookbook and Bundu Food (which was awarded the prestigious Gourmand Award in 2014 for the best thematic South African cookbook). As a freelance cook for Penduka Safaris in the early 1990s on trips to remote areas of Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe, Rita is one of the best people to cover the subject matter. She was also the food writer for three years for DriveOut/WegRy magazine.
