An old man feels he has wasted his life by not pursuing a creative path, and finds himself missing an old friend from art school he hasn't seen in forty years. While watching TV, he catches sight of a painted mark on an alley wall during a show featuring Vancouver's street art that he feels could only have been made by his long lost friend. On an impulse he decides to travel across the country to try to find his lost friend. He moves into a derelict hotel in an area known for its alley street art, and begins to search for his friend. Along the way, he makes friends and allies, and rediscovers his own artistic self.
