Some three years ago the writer of the following pages issued, in pamphlet form, a short account Of the Canadian Asbestos Mines, appending thereto a few pages descriptive of the more important uses to which asbestos was found applicable. Taking a keen interest in the subject, and believing that, in the near future, there would be few branches Of practical mechanics, Of art or Of industry, in which asbestos would not find a place, he has carefully noted the new uses which are continually suggested, and the processes Of manufacture which are from time to time devised for its further utilisation.
