From the experience with a sling in his youth' the author uses his imagination to tell of a young boy character who' after hearing about David and Goliath has his dad make him a sling and practices until he becomes expert at it. It then tells about his' getting in and out of situations using the sling. his parents are guiding him to be a christian man' and warn him of the responsibility of using the sling.

Author is now 85 and lives in San Angelo, Texas. Married for 64 years and has 2 grown sons and 1 grown daughter. He is a devout Christian, has filled in as sub-preacher for many years. He has a BA in Communications, sang in an a" capello gospel quartet for nearly 20 years and made 8 albums with the Embers Gospel Quartet.
