Credo provides at least a partial insight into the personality and ministry of Rev. Feldmanis. This cycle of sermons on the Creed took place during the Soviet years or repression and persecution policy, when the „religious propaganda" outside the cult rituals was banned. Besides it should be noted that repressions and persecutions have been constant companions of the Christian Church throughout its history. But, as testified by the Acts, it had ultimately led to the growth of the Church. This visibly fulfils the words of Our Lord addressed at Peter, that even the gates of hell will not overcome His Church (Mat. 16:18). The Church of Latvia is yet another testimony to the truth of this promise.
