What if your moment never comes? This fantastic tale by the author of the Dead Things series looks at what happens when you least expect it.

Life rarely, in Nora's experience, ends up as expected. An accidental fossil discovery might rewrite the text books on dinosaurs. Like the fossils that showed feather imprints for avian and non-avian dinosaurs. Suddenly the narrative shifts from BDR (Big Dumb Reptiles) to agile, fast, cunning, warm-blooded animals.

The chance to rewrite history isn't why she sets out on a hike off-trail, despite the intriguing pic from her students. She is seeking her own answers to life.

Ryan M. Williams' A Scattering of Rainbows is part of the Super Great Challenge (SGC), one story written each week for a year from this imaginative author. Each story an unique experience that can be read in a single entertaining sitting.
