Sally lives in an old church in the Wairarapa, New Zealand. She breeds Clydesdale horses, sheep, and milk goats. Sally enjoys sitting in local cafes, and hugging a cup of tea, while stringing words into a story. Somewhere Else is her first novel. Sunrise will follow it. Sally's short stories have been published in New Zealand, England, America and Australia. Sally's first book, Deputy Dan and the Mysterious Midnight Marauder, won a Sir Julius Vogel award in 2008.
