Pioneer Families of Huntsville, Washington is a history and collection of brief biographies of the early beginnings of Huntsville. The residents and their connection to the town and to each other are the focus of the book. It is the author's hope to preserve a little history of Huntsville. Is also a hope expressed by many families who have lived there with their families.

Sandra Torres and her husband retired from the Postal Service in 2003. Later that year they moved to Waitsburg, Washington and fell in love with the town and local area. They opened an antique shop and lodging and retired again in 2019. Sandra published a book on the town of Waitsburg in 2013. Her curiosity about the region led her to research a small nearby town which no longer exists as a town. The result is her book on Huntsville, Washington- Pioneer Families of Huntsville, Washington.
