Additional info: The sun rose over Cairo in a shroud of golden dust and neon haze, painting the city with a brilliance that seemed both ancient and brand new. On the embankment near the river, a man stood in the pale gauze of morning, his silhouette at odds with the world around him. He wore a linen kilt and a broad collar of faience beads, his feet strapped in sandals, his head crowned by a blue and gold headdress. His skin was the color of dark honey, his eyes wide with the terror and awe of a creature wrenched from nonexistence and thrust into bedlam. He gazed across the river to the city's clutch of glass towers and satellite dishes, and then behind him at the Giza plateau, where the pyramids squatted like the bones of dead gods.

I was born in England, but have lived in Southern California for many years. I m now retired and live in the Pacific NW in a little seaside city amongst the giant redwoods and wonderful harbor, almost at the Oregon border. My husband and I have one cat, called Midnight and she is featured in two of my latest Sci-Fi short stories. I love Science Fiction, animals, and trying to help others.
