A momentous geopolitical turning point?

As vicious and irrational as this latest war in Iran is, is this an important turning point and the dawning of a new era of peace and opportunity in the Middle East?

The joint preemptive strike of the USA and Israel on Iran that started on 28 February 2026 was meant simply to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, to destroy Iran's missile capabilities and to effect regime change in Iran.

But it has since spun out of control, and has changed the geopolitics of the entire Middle East radically.

It has escalated to become a regional war, and may even escalate worldwide.

How it will end is of great importance to the world?
