Born near Sandersville, Georgia, on a farm in 1928 as the oldest of eight children, my mother and dad did not need a village to raise the family. We enjoyed good health and a wholesome family life as we struggled to make a living on our small farm. Fortunately, upon graduation from high school I enrolled and later graduated from Berry College at Mt. Berry, Georgia. Miss Martha Berry established one of the finest schools in this country and the college motto: "Not to be ministered unto, but to minister" was readily adopted as my personal motto. Early one morning in May, 1997, I stepped outside to walk down the street and heard an inner voice saying: "Acknowledge me in all thy ways and I will direct you through all of your days." This thought resounded again and again, and I determined this is what I must do. Thereafter, when I arise early in the morning I frequently have thoughts which I transfer to script and have enjoyed this exercise in self expression. Thomas W.
