Sisters April and Africa were abandoned by their mother. April escaped the dangerous streets of New Orleans for a better opportunity in Chicago. Africa was left behind once again to endure physical and verbal abuse at the hands of her legal guardian. The sisters reunite due to Africa's violent escape from her guardian's home.

Tiffany M. Woods is a proud mother of five children. She has graduated from New Orleans Theological Baptist Seminary with a bachelor in Christian Ministry. She has also received a paralegal certification from Blackstone, and is a member of Toastmasters International. Ms. Woods is also a mentor in the reentry program at Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women.
