Summer is back in school and wondering about her relationship with Dane. He never calls, and when she does get to speak to him, he keeps the conversation short. Now he's sent her a letter, which literally spells it out for her, his take on where their relationships going. A big fat nowhere. Summer is livid, the coward didn't even have the decency to break it off face to face! Heartbroken she throws the letter in the trash, thinking things couldn't get any worse, only to be given earth shattering news, which will alter her life forever. Summer has never felt more alone…
Although Dane ended his relationship with Summer, he can't shake his strong attraction to her, or the way she made him feel. However, his scars run deep and he believes it's the only way forward for both of them. But Dane is troubled when Ben tells him he has feelings for Summer, and to make matters worse, Ben has been transferred to the Boston office, giving him more access to Summer. Dane struggles with his feelings.
Should he intervene and stop Ben from pursuing a future with Summer? Did he have the right? After all, wasn't he the one that broke it off? Would Summer even take him back?
