The course of Lin's life has been altered by three things: the weight of her surname, Samsara's implosion, and archaeologist Nel Bently.
Lin's mission on Earth has failed. Her parents are MIA, her brother betrayed her, and she is told that Nel, too was lost to the flames that thwarted IDH's plans. Believing her lover dead, when Harris offers her a dangerous promotion, she accepts. The Dreadnaught Lahifa sets off into the stars with Komodor Lin Nalawangsa at the helm.
As Lin's duties grow riskier, however, strange whispers and terrifying rumors dog her steps and she begins to piece together the truth about her mission. Spurred by her grief and fury, Lin discovers a dark past to the world in which she was raised and must choose how much of her humanity she is willing to sacrifice.
Harbingers is a short story following Lin during the events of Fugitives.
