Velma Lee is an associate professor of leadership and management at Palm Beach Atlantic University. Dr. Lee has served in higher education since 1998. Prior to her academic career, she worked for GE Medical Systems and Pepsi-Cola Inc., and consulted in human resources at both regional and corporate levels. Dr. Lee received her BSc and MSc degrees from the University of Oregon and her PhD from the University of Birmingham, UK. She has published articles on leadership and change using healthcare teams, podcasting, and teaching leadership and management. She has volunteered for the American Cancer Society and Florida Department of Health, and translated for patients in Upstate Medical Hospital in New York. Dr. Lee is a founding member of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Industry Studies Program and a member of the Academy of Management Health Care Management Division.
