Warren C. Strahle joined the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1968 after more than four years of experience at the Aerospace Corporation and the Institute for Defense Analyses. He attained the rank of Regents' Professor of Aerospace Engineering in1977. His fields of research have included liquid and solid rocket combustion stability, thrust vector control. external and supersonic combustion. liquid and solid rocket ingredient combustion. tactical and strategic missile preliminary design. Ramjet combustion stability. combustion noise. Diesel engine noise and turbulent reacting flows. Dr. Strahle has received several research awards. most recently the1985 American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Pen dray Aerospace Literature Award.
