Take it from an old black homo is for mature reading. While examples of depraved sexual behavior is discussed, there are no explicit sexual scenes in this book. Profanity is used in expressive terms only, and is not meant to depict any persons or group. The book takes a grown-up look at the far reaching and long term effects of homophobia in the African American community in the areas of religion, politics, family, the military and societal stigmas in American culture as a whole. It is a narrative providing insight from the perspective of a middle aged African American gay male living in the United States, and is intended for supporters and detractors alike of the GLBT community as a whole.
