Unemployed detective Roark, on vacation in New York, winds up being hired by the Babylon Police Department, joins a fantasy football league, and solves a deadly hit-and-run accident perpetrated by the commissioner of the league, who just happens to be a judge. Along the way, he becomes infatuated with his significant other.

WJ Ferguson is a CPA and a lawyer whose first love is sports. Now semiretired, he plays simulated sports games produced by a company called Strat-O-Matic. Just to round out his activities, he also writes novels. He lives in Madison, Wisconsin, with his significant other along with two dogs and a cat. For relaxation, he plays golf, but not very well.
