M. Rainer Lepsius (1928-2014) was Professor of Sociology at the University of Heidelberg, a co-editor of Max Weber's Collected Works, and wrote on Max Weber for more than thirty years. The 16 essays featured in this volume deal with Weber's work and his Fragestellung , his professional engagements, Weber as a traveller, Weber and his personal relations, and, finally, the Max Weber-Gesamtausgabe . Four essays are previously unpublished texts from Lepsius's papers, among them an essay on the Max Weber-house in Heidelberg and its relevance for the development of cultural liberalism, cultural protestantism and cultural feminism in Germany.
