Jewish cemeteries existed for centuries in the Holy Roman Empire. Unlike earlier research, this study shows that the gravesites of this religious minority were not the primary sites of conflict. Instead, they provide evidence of a multi-religious society where, for the most part, Jewish and Christian spheres of life existed in quite natural proximity and in relation to one another.
