This volume contains the text and translation with commentary of two Middle High German sermons that are distinguished from other 14th century texts of this genre by their unusual philosophical interest. One author confronts the theoretical models of Thomas Aquinas, Meister Eckhart, and Theodoric of Freiberg, translating the scholarly disputation on Aristotelian theories of reason and the theology of grace into vernacular language.
