Susheela Punitha is former Professor of English, Mount Carmel College and Centre for Post-graduate Studies, Seshadripuram, Bengaluru. She has led graduate and undergraduate programmes in English Language and Literature, teaching Indian, British and Commonwealth Literature, Linguistics, Stylistics and Discourse Analysis, Classical and Modern Critical Theory, both Indian and Western. She won the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2015 for her translation of U.R. Ananthamurthy's Bharathipura.
