In a dark spiky wood we find a wicked witch who wakes at dawn, and snips the heads off flowers that have dared to grow near her house. The fabulous illustrations bring humour to this nasty witch, and pick out super details such as the eye that searches for bugs under the bed. As the witch builds up to her most wicked spell, we wonder what a world with no colours would be like to live in. Luckily for us the witch is too hasty, and makes a mistake that brings an end to all of her wickness. After her house has tumbled away the woodland creatures can enjoy their beautiful new home. The Owl's Supper is a great read aloud story for young children.
