He's hiding a centuries-old secret. Revealing it could ruin his life. Now, to save her, he must do just that, risking everything ? including her love.
Almost a year after waking in twentieth-century New York, Ciarán Donnelly has a new life, a woman he loves, and a secret that could destroy it all. Now, he's finally returned to his Irish homeland ? but Ireland is nothing like he remembers it, and the realization of how much he's lost is taking a toll on his relationship with archaeologist Caitlin O'Connell.
He's still carrying grief for his fifth-century wife, guilt for a brother who continues to sleep in a Dublin museum, and the weight of a secret that grows harder to keep with every passing day, especially from Caitlin.
Then a serial killer starts stalking the countryside, and everything changes. Ciarán may be the only one who can stop him ? but doing so means waking his brother, risking both their lives, and exposing the secret he's fought so hard to protect. The answer lies within the Book of Carraig, a sacred text of their ancient priesthood ? but first, Ciarán needs to find it.
Some secrets are worth dying for. Some are worth taking the chance and revealing. Ciarán is about to find out which one this is.

Inez M. Foster writes under two pen names. The first, Andrea Matthews, is for her historical and paranormal romances, and the second, I. M. Foster, is for her historical mysteries. Inez is a historian and retired librarian who loves to read, and write, and search around for her roots, genealogically speaking. She has a BA in History and an MLS in Library Science, and enjoys the research almost as much as she does writing the story. In fact, many of her ideas come to her while doing casual research or digging into her family history. After working as a substitute teacher while raising her children, she retired from that career to pursue a second career as a librarian, where she chaired the Long Island History Committee of the Suffolk County Librarian Association. Now that she has retired, she has embarked on her third career as a full-time author.
Her historical romance series, Thunder on the Moor, is a story of time-travel and forbidden love, set on the 16th-century Anglo-Scottish Border. The paranormal romance series, The Cross of Ciaran, follows the life of a fifteen-hundred-year-old Celt, who finds himself in the twentieth century, falling in love with the archaeologist who discovered him.
Inez also writes historical mysteries under the pen name I. M. Foster. Her South Shore Mystery series is set in the early 1900s in a small Long Island village, not far from where she now lives, and involves an assistant coroner and doctor, whose love interest, a local librarian, insists on becoming embroiled in his cases.
As a member of the Long Island Romance Writers, she organizes their monthly newsletter and takes part in their monthly meetings as well as those of the Long Island Writers Group, another local organization. She is also a member of the Historical Novel Society and the Crime Writers Association, as well as the Authors Guild and the Alliance of Independent Authors.
