Wiggling and wriggling with all his might, the tiny gosling tried to free itself from the grasp of the hungry seagull. Only a few hours old, it had been snatched from its nest and was destined to be the seagull's dinner.
Flying over the nearby trainyard with the gosling in its beak, the seagull was startled by the loud blare of the train whistle. The sudden noise caused it to lose its grasp on the tiny gosling. Still wriggling and writhing, the young gosling was now tumbling through the air, about to land in the gravel beside a huge red engine in the trainyard.
A locomotive engineer noticed the commotion and heard the terrifying screams; he summoned his crew to stop the train. Making his way off the locomotive, Andy found the tiny gosling scurrying towards the rail for safety. He scooped up the frightened gosling, and said, "I think I'll call you Morty." And so begins the adventures of Morty!
Read the story of Morty, the lucky goose, to discover his adventures as Andy raises him to adulthood.
Autorentext
As a locomotive engineer for many years, I wrote stories in my mind as I rode the rails. Finally, in 2022, after a bout with cancer, I was encouraged by an editor to publish them. I had previously been a puppeteer and was always delighted to see children's eyes light up, and to witness their innocence and curiosity.
It is my pleasure to share some stories and adventures with you. I hope you enjoy them.
