This book has been written with the aim of acquainting readers with these guidelines and rules, taking an international perspective on the issue. All the main focus of pollution-land, air, water and noise have been covered within this purview, with special emphasis on the laws and regulations existing in India. Emphasis has also been placed on acritical evaluation of these guidelines, and what needs to be incorporated within them, to make them more comprehensive and all-encompassing. The purpose is not just to inform the readers that such guidelines exist, but motivate them to adhere to them, as well as reflect upon the advantages on inadequacies of these guidelines. It is hoped that the compendious and insightful content of the book will succeed in making readers realize the aim.



Autorentext

Archana Satarkar, a distinguished teacher, did her Masters Degree in Education. She started her professional career as a lecturer in 1972 and served many educational institutions in India and abroad. She has been associated with a number of academic bodies and professional organisations. She also worked in the editorial board of a number of famous magazines. She is the author, co-author and editor of about 8 books and published more than 25 research papers in reputed journals. Currently, she is retired from the services and spending much of her time for writing and social work.
