Casca and Goldman have a chance meeting in Berlin that gives Casca the opportunity to tell Goldman of his time as a soldier for the Third Reich in their fight with the Russians.

But when the war went bad, Casca lost his faith in their leaders, he had no choice but to visit the bunker in Berlin, a visit as important to the world as anything he had done.
