When love turns toxic and marriage turns lonely, two best friends must decide what they're truly willing to sacrifice in Dawn Cloud's bold and emotionally charged debut.
Leilani Benjamin knows better than to romanticize the past. But when her toxic ex-fiancé reappears with apologies, promises, and memories she never truly let go of, she finds herself slipping back into a relationship that once nearly destroyed her. Even as a kind, steady new man begins showing her what healthy love could look like, Leilani can't stop craving the chaos she swore she'd outgrown.
Her best friend Gia Morgan is fighting battles of her own. After years of feeling overlooked in her marriage, Gia is tired of begging her husband for the attention and intimacy that once came so easily. When another man begins giving her everything she's been missing, temptation quickly blurs the lines she never thought she'd cross.
As secrets unravel and emotions spiral, Leilani and Gia are forced to confront uncomfortable truths and the messy consequences of spinning the wrong blocks.

Dawn Cloud was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, where storytelling has always been part of who she is. She wrote her first short story at nine years old and has been creating unforgettable characters and emotionally layered worlds ever since.
A proud graduate of the University of West Georgia, Dawn earned her bachelor's degree in English before completing a master's degree in English with a concentration in Creative Writing and Fiction at Georgia State University.

By night, she writes emotionally charged stories about love, resilience, complicated relationships, and the messy beauty of being human. When she's not grading papers or working on her next novel, Dawn can usually be found at the gym, lost in a good book, or filling online shopping carts she may or may not check out.
She lives in the Metro Atlanta area with her two daughters, who inspire her creativity, courage, and every story she tells.
