Gertrude Chandler Warner was born in Putnam, Connecticut, on April 16, 1890. From the age of five, she dreamed of becoming an author. She wrote stories for her grandfather, and each Christmas she gave him one of these stories as a gift. Today, Ms. Warner is best remembered as the author of The Boxcar Children Mysteries.
Meika Hashimoto is an award-winning picture book, graphic novel, and middle grade novel writer, with books published by Scholastic, Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, and Andrews McMeel. She grew up on a shiitake mushroom farm tucked within the rural mountains of Maine.
Giovanni Abeille was born and raised in Naples, one of the most beautiful cities in southern Italy overlooking the Mediterranean. He is drawn to creating imaginary worlds and capturing unique characters. Giovanni studied fine arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples. He has been working for more than 20 years as an illustrator in Italy and around the world. When not illustrating, he loves spending quality time with his family and Linda Lee, a precious little white dog.
