The Bored and the Cross is Gregory Matthews's tale of triumph and tragedy, of loss and gain, of mistakes made and ones corrected.

Gregory, born of tragedy, is raised by a single father. He grew to be a rebellious teen, swearing he'll never be like his dad, bent by a girlfriend's pry of running off to Bible College. It results in him getting bored with it all and she a broken heart.

Gregory will decide to leave religion behind for what he thinks will be brighter skies in "The Big Apple." He will in turn become what he despises, brokering what he hates.

He marries, for the wrong reasons, and that, too, ends in ruin. His wife will say, "Leave!" and he's faced with the prospect of nowhere to go. It's a life-altering experience. Something as simple as a walk around the block, to clear his head, will turn into a soul-cleansing voyage - a nine-month trek from New York to LA for Gregory.

The journey has a flare of suspense and intrigue, for Gregory's framed by a crooked Sheriff for a murder he didn't commit and becomes a hunted man. The FBI want him, but the Sheriff is hell-bent on seeing Gregory dead.
